Filter was easy to install and lasts about 6 months. I'm cautious about purchasing lower priced filters. My only gripe is how expensive these filters are! But a water filter is something you should never cheap out on.

The MWFP does not filter out Trihalomethanes which are known carcinogens produced from chlorine use as a decontaminate by many water authorities across the nation. This filter has a lot of good qualities but falls short of eliminating Trihalomethanes carcinogens.

The instructions for installation should have said to remove the plastic shield first, so you can see what you are doing. Squeeze it, and it comes off easily. If it makes a loud noise when water dispenser is turned on, push down around the inside edge of filter to reset water valve. Or. do it before installing & you shouldn't hear any noise.

I've been using only GE water filters for years, they were very good. You must have changed suppliers because the last one I purchased (authentic GE filter) is leaving a bad aftertaste. The filter has been installed since last May 2021. I thought this would resolve itself after a while, but no luck. My faucet water tastes much better. I'll not buy GE water filters again.

These filters do not fit my 2010 side by side refrigerator. The opening of the filter is 1/16" smaller than the original MWF filters. I am getting the same responses that MWFP filters are the new ones to use, but agin they say MWF on the outside of the filter and the opening is smaller. What filter fits?????

I purchased 3 GE MWF water filters for my side by side GE refridgerator. I've always purchased Water Drop water filters but tried these from GE. I went to first one in today and it will not tighten. Upon comparing this with the Water Drop model, I noticed the center part that connects is designed differently. The GE Water filter is the correct one according to GE specs. The 3 I purchased will go into trash and Water Drop will be the way to go for me.
