Replaced a 20 year old Jenn Air with this unit. Great design for a downdraft range. Like being able to move pots over the entire top. Very easy to clean. Large burnets are very hot. Only complaint is I wish the burners had more adjustment to the low side.

Well same old story old gen-air and needed to replace with a downdraft. Only have had it for a few days, so a bit early for a review. The grill on top has already lost some luster after the first use. That's not a big deal for me, it's a tool and I'm going to use it as such. Installation is a bit tricky as everything was the opposite from the jen-air. That's just how that goes. I like the high heat as we do a lot of Asian style cooking. We have it set in an Island and the unit is deeper, thus can no longer put the oil's and spices at the back of the unit. The oven fan does run a little long for cooling the unit down in tandem with the time for preheating. Sounds like a lot of negatives when I put it down on paper, but the unit feels solid and hopefully it will stand the test of time. If so these other bumps are insignificant; just got to get use to them.

I LOVE this range! Very well built, excellent features and who doesn't love the wonderful downdraft fan??? The only problem I have found is that the knobs don't always stay LOCKED in the OFF position. Several times they have been ON just a little bit and I have smelled gas. Fortunately, I have caught this in time, though one time the smell of gas woke me up! I am very careful to check to make sure the knobs are in the OFF position.

We have been using the range for just about a month and so far we are very pleased with the range and its features. The gas cooktop is well made and operates great as does the oven. We have to be very careful with stainless steel cooktop to prevent scratches, dents and staining of the stainless steel. So far, it has not been a problem as we typically take good care of our appliances. I would highly recommend this appliance if you need a downdraft slide-in range.

I regret purchasing this type of stove with its respective shortcomings. The front burners put out a tremendous amount of flame and BTU's; however, one cannot turn them down to a low setting to simmer something that's hot. If one uses the downdraft feature, even at low, so much heat is shunted out the vent that it barely is effective. In addition, it is so noisy that a conversation is difficult. If one uses the rear burners with the downdraft feature activated, the cooking time is multiplied to many times as long as a normal cooking time would take, effectively making them useless.

Don't buy this range! The control panel is a very poor design, it takes forever to preheat, burners are not capable of simmering and the Aqualift 'Cleaning' technology is a joke; it flat out does not work. I am sorry I purchased this, it has been very disappointing.

The stove arrived packaged nicely. No scratches or dings. We had to order an adapter cord for our outlet to match the one on the stove, to keep from rewiring. Not a deal breaker. We are replacing a Jenn-Air downvent purchased in 1996. There wan't anything wrong w/ the JA. When remodeling our kitchen, we were redesigning the island, and it will not be an easy access repair if the JA went down. So we decided to replace it, hoping for as much good luck for the many years w/ the Kitchen-Aid that we had w/ the JA.

This new range replaced my 26 year old JennAir. Everything is bigger and better!
I love the different size burners, the downdraft works much better, and the oven is roomier with lots more shelves. It's set up to be very user friendly. I'm enjoying preparing meals and so far I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Everything works great. The stainless steel finish is cheap and scratches easily. When I contacted Kitchen Aid regarding it they told me how to clean it. I think appliances are not made to be used. Disappointed with the quality

I had been wanting a duel fuel oven for ages so when our electric range died we were on the hunt. We needed a downdraft and there weren't lots of options in our price range. Downdraft, has cooktop and electric/convection oven. Have had it installed for about a month and no real complaints. Yes if you have a tall pot on cooktop the downdraft struggles to catch the vapors. I plan to make a stainless steel scoop to extend the height of the downdraft as another reviewer suggested. Still have lots of features to try out. I do wish it had one more powerful burner because I frequently cook with a wok and it takes a while to heat up the wok where it needs to be.

Had this about two weeks and love it. I had a similar one which was a lemon but this one has no problems. 4 different size burners allow things to cook at different levels . The oven heats up quite quickly for an electric. Huge oven with 3 racks, one of which slides out easily.

Like it with one exception. That being both large burners in front rather than one in front and one in back. We find this to be a poor arrangement. This is the first range we have seen with both large burners in front and can't understand why it's that way!

I prefer a gas oven. We had no choice because we needed a downdraft, slide in oven for our small kitchen. The gas stove is wonderful and spacious, but the oven heats up a bit slowly and I will need to adjust to cooking with it. Also, the fan that cools it down, post-cooking is a bit loud. Again, this product is clearly well made, but I had preferences that couldn't be fulfilled because of our set up. Kitchen Aid is a go to brand.

The duel fuel is such a great option. Excellent gas cooktop with electric convection. Best of both worlds. The only issue was venting it out of the house. Since it is downdraft, you may need to run a new vent system.

We purchased this to place in an Island in our kitchen, it is top quality! Everything works great and the gas range heats food quickly. The oven cooks my food evenly. The roll out rack in the oven is so nice to pull out when cooking large or heavy dishes.I haven't used the convection yet, but I'm sure it will be great! We're very happy with our choice of this KitchenAid oven!

I really like my new range, however, there is one small issue that I don't like. Whenever I use the downdraft it pulls the flame towards that direction so one side of the pan I am cooking with gets hotter than the other side. Therefore, I have to constantly move the food around for even cooking.

We had a 40 year old Jenn Aire downdraft and I wanted a new stove. Installation was a nightmare as the gas line and electrical had to be moved 10" and our granite had to be shaved 1/8". But the stove is in and works well, with a much bigger oven than our Jenn Aire.

My grates look like this after 3 uses. KitchenAid has sent 3 new sets of grates, all which do the exact same thing: scratch and look dirty no matter how often you clean them! Their final response was: this is cosmetic and there is nothing more we can do. Don't buy this range!

We purchased all KitchenAid appliances during our 2016 kitchen remodel. Our Fridge makes funny noise all the time (even after a new motor was installed in 2017) and the oven just stopped working this week. Only 3 1/2 years old and we're having to pay $400--$600 to have a cooling fan fixed. I am terribly disappointed in the way KitchenAid handled this situation. This should not happen to a new major appliance. Do better, KitchenAid!

We bought this two months ago to replace a 15 year old Jenn Air dual fuel downdraft and this unit is as fabulous as it is flawless. Wonderful top grate system.
I especially like the "Keep Warm" feature that holds foods at 170 degrees. The installation of the downdraft blower, even replacing another downdraft, is not a DIY project so I recommend having that part professionally done. The fan is very strong even with a long run of venting. Great machine.

I purchased this range in November. By April, I was on my 3rd set of replacement grates, due to scratching immediately upon using the grates. Scratched grates within 1 use? I exclusively use stainless steel pots and pans. Surely, I felt Whirlpool would make this situation "right." I was wrong! Customer service offered to send me one more set of the same grates. The customer service representative actually suggested that I purchase another set to use when I have company or am not cooking!!! I explained this wasn't for "show" it was dissatisfaction for a product I spent a lot of money on. Highly dissatisfied with this purchase and mostly, highly dissatisfied with customer service's response.

If you need a slide-in, dual energy, downdraft range there are not many choices. This model is head and shoulders above our previous. And the downdraft is perfect - very powerful so it really pulls the steam and odors; yet is unexpectedly quiet. Also very happy with the wide oven door / window and strong lighting. Gives a great view to everything going on in the oven.

I bought a Kitchenaid dual fuel 4 burner range over 10 years ago. I would never spend money on this again. It has broken down repeatedly over the years, and I have replaced all the parts multiple times. The circuit boards twice, the heating element twice, the inside and outside glass, and problems with the stove top. I have no confidence in this product. I have spent thousands repairing it as well. You would be better off spending half the money, because you will need a new range in under 10 years.

Very satisfied with our new stove. Make sure the gas, electric and exhaust duct are in the correct location using on line info prior to purchase/delivery. The oven preheats to cooking temperature in about the same time as our old gas stove. The control panel controls all functions. The only knobs on the stove are for the 4 stove top burners making cleaning easier. Looks great.
