I've only had it for a few days, and so far, it's very good. The fast burners are VERY fast and I've already learned to use the lower settings. The grates are quite heavy, but I knew that going in. They lift easily and the pan below is easily wiped up.

Nice so far. Only complaint... the grate is peculiar over the burners, where there are gaps. Small pots, and pots with rounded bottoms don't sit flush and can wobble a bit.

This was installed in our brand new home. The first time my wife used this product the heat completely melted the knobs. We are extremely lucky she noticed it before she tried to turn the knob off with her hand. She could have been badly burned. The safety team acted like it was operator error! Unbelievable Do Not buy this product! It's extremely dangerous

Cooktop burner caps do not sit well

I got this gas cooktop from the builder as a part of newly built home. I really love this stove and how it is designed. Very easyly accessable for cleaning in a short time but, the burner caps do not sit well on the burners due to which the fire turns off all of a sudden and i only realize fire is not on sometimes when i smell gas. I reached out to whirlpool customer service who routed the work order to their local dealers. The person came in and checked and asked me to keep watching and make sure to use only when the flame is on. What is the use when i have to monitor the stove all the time if it is sitting or not. As the way it is designed i would imagine the burner cap to sit well on the top and that's what it is meant for . how can i access the burner when it was hot to realize the flame turned off. I would recommend this product but, not fully so, selecting my next question about recommendation as "yes"

Burner knob damaged exactly like the first review

This cooktop was the one the builder selected for my home. It was in place when I purchased my new home. I was simmering something with a glass lid on it and when I lifted the lid to stir the contents of the pan some hot water dripped off the glass lid onto the burner knob melting it almost exactly like the photo in the other review.
The knobs are made out of plastic that is clearly not heat tolerant. Do you make a metal knob replacement kit for this cooktop? Plastic knobs on an appliance whose sole purpose is to make fire seems a little short sighted.
The rest of the cooktop functions well and is easy to clean with the lift up cast iron grates. It would be fine if it had metal knobs or at least knobs that could withstand a few drops of hot water.

This stove top was included in the house we recently built, and we've been using it for almost a month. The design makes for an incredibly easy cleanup, as the grates are easily removed and the contour of the top allows larger pieces of food to be swept right into your hand. So far, we have had a great experience with it - the burners ignite and work as they should.

I put this in to replace a Kitchenaid that had just worn out. I cook several times a day, everyday. This Whirlpool is easy to clean and works very smoothly. The grates are not designed for small bottom sauce pans, so you have to be careful not to spill. My only complaint.

Nice looking cooktop. Love the full grates. Does require lot of attention to keep the stainless steel looking good. Low flame setting is not that low, which supposedly can be adjusted if you can find the right screwdriver; have not found one yet. Two of the three grates were uneven and rocked, which we corrected with metallic tape on right side of hinge.

We bought this to replace a unit that was 18 years old! I love the look and feel. It is so easy to cook on! The lift up grates make cleaning very easy. We had a little more difficult time since we had to use the conversion kit to propane (had to run out to buy some special tools) but it just took a few hours.

This came with our new house, and everyone raves about gas so I was excited to use it. I have been cooking on a ceramic smooth cooktop pretty much my whole life. Everyone thinks gas is so much faster, but I haven't felt that way yet. Even on the rapid boil middle burner, it still takes 15 minutes or so to boil a pot of water for pasta. I guess my ceramic cooktops had been far superior to other cheap electric stoves. I just expected it to cook things faster like I'd been hearing for years.
I love the way it looks in my kitchen and it works great so no complaints.

I am very pleased with my new cook top. All of the measurements were accurate so this unit was an easy replacement for my existing, but worn out cook top (it was a DCS Brand). The unit was easy to connect; Electric is plug in, gas was simple provided you know what you are doing. The unit is good looking and the tilt up grates are a great enhancement!!!
