This Electric cooktop is great! I love the sounds that It makes when you turn it on, accompanied by the blue lighting. The magnetic removeable knob is awesome too. You can use the knob to adjust the heating element temperature, or you can remove the knob and just use your finger for a sleek looking design. It cooks evenly and is great for an electric stove top! I also love the Lock function on it, that way I do not have to worry about accidentally turning it on, and makes it safe for a family friendly home. The rapid boil was a great feature for me as well. I don't like to waste time when it comes to boiling noodles, so it made my life easier. I also like that I can adjust the pan/pot size of the burner. I have a lot of little pots and then a huge wok that I cook with, so it was nice for this Samsung stove to give me that versatility.

None of the cooktops are electrically connected in the showrooms, so you can't actually test them to see how they operate in the store before you buy. The first cooktop delivered didn't work properly out of the box. The second unit is questionable. Using the magnetic knob to control the burner is totally erratic. When you rotate it there is usually a delay before the unit responds, and then may jump between settings. The alarm beep on the timer is so quiet, you can't hear it even if having a normal conversation with someone, or doing other work. Is this as designed?
On the plus side, having five burners comes in handy. The two burner sync is handy, and the pan size and simmer controls are very useful. The surface cleans up easily.

my wife and i love this cooktop. it looks great, it's easy to use, and it's easy to clean since the knob is magnetic. we usually keep the knob on the fridge when not in use.
one drawback is the sensitivity of the knob -- you might be turning it and nothing happens, then it jumps ahead 2 or 3 numbers -- so it takes a little finesse and patience.
our cooktop is on an island with a downdraft vent. unfortunately, samsung did not offer a downdraft vent option, so we bought a telescoping one from a different manufacturer and it fits well with this.

Less than a month after we bought the cooktop and had it installed we got an error message on the top and it didn't work. We called customer service and they had technicians out to replace parts and correct the problem. Everything works great now - no problems since

My wife does most of the cooking in our home, except for breakfast on Sundays. When she received this, Samsung Cooktop, I had to immediately try it out with Sunday breakfast routine. The Sync Control, is definitely my favorite feature. We have a griddle, that I like to use, when I'm making waffles or pancakes, but we don't have a lot of cabinet space, to use it very often. The Sync Control, allowed me to combine two burners, so we were able to cook pancakes, while the bacon was cooking. I also love the magnet and digital control features. This allows you to control the settings digitally or by the use of the magnetic knob.
Last, but definitely not least, is the Lock Option. This is a very important safety feature for me, this gives me the option to lock the cooktop completely. We have two small boys, so this absolutely gives me a sense of security. Overall, this is one of Samsung's Top Appliance's for me. I've tried several cooktops, from other brands and they didn't offer half the features, this cooktop has!
I would definitely recommend this to all of my friends and family!
